The article gives a historical overview and the state of the art concerning childhood stuttering.It deals with the well-established and recommended methods of ENZYME FORCE treating stuttering and of advising parents.According to the ICF model, the reader should be enabled to deduce the two-step diagnostic procedure, the counselling and - if necessary - the scheduling of therapy.According to the German guidelines, recommended therapeutic methods are mentioned.The state of 1139 the art concerning research into therapy is critically discussed.
